I wanted to get on here today and have more of a purposeful life talk for a change. I have really been struggling with not “having enough time in the day” to get everything done. Anyone else ever feel this way? I feel like my to-do list is constantly growing and I can never make a dent in it. Every time I scratch something off I have seemed to accumulated another two to three things to add. It’s a never-ending cycle of this.
Being a full-time student, blogger and wife along with keeping up with my health and fitness while also trying to take on a new job as a fitness instructor is hard work. I’m not going to lie, giving up blogging or quitting school have all run through my head time and time again. I have lately been telling my self to prioritize, which is extremely hard for me because I know school is where my focus should lie, but blogging and making time for my husband is where my heart is. How do you decide what’s most important to you? Do you give all of these areas 100 percent effort and wear yourself out in the process mentally and physically? Do you choose to give up things you enjoy because they aren’t necessarily most important on your list? Do you give up what’s considered most important to keep yourself happy for what might be the short-term? All of these thoughts are continually running through my head and I have been trying to find a happy medium to handle all of the pieces to my life that are always apart of my to-do list.
I’m here to give a little motivation and a huge life tip if your feeling the same way.
Don’t give up what your passionate about or what’s important to you, do it all. Your probably thinking how in the world can I do that you just said how stressed you are trying to keep up with it all. You do this by giving your all, even if that’s not 110 percent effort, and being happy with your all. If you can be happy doing all of the things and doing it to the best of your ability with the time restraints life has given you, I promise you will be happier than if you quit or never tried.
Who wants to say they gave up something they love because there just isn’t time? Or that you gave up on something you know is bettering yourself, like furthering your education? Or that you never tried that new hobby because there isn’t time for it?
All of these things are apart of life and all of them keep you happy in some way or another whether you realize it or not. I am a very OCD, give it 110 percent or none at all type of person even with school, which just isn’t possible with a ton of things on your plate. I have been working on giving each part of my life an effort that I can be happy with. School is the number one. I am realizing that I don’t have to have 100’s on every assignment, that I will be happier If I can give school the amount of effort I am capable of giving it while still saving some of my time and effort for the other areas of my life I enjoy. You can’t be happy and content with life if you’re giving up the things you love about life just to give one thing 110 percent.
All of this to say, if you’re struggling with “not having enough time in a day” you’re not alone. Find a way to give each piece of your life the amount of effort you have time for that will keep you happy. This is considered “giving it your all,” even if you don’t think so, I promise. Be happy with your all even if you could physically put more effort into one aspect if you took something out of your schedule. You will be happier giving it your all while enjoying everything that makes you happy along with the priorities you know you shouldn’t abandon.
I hope this gives you a little motivation for the day and reminds you it’s possible to do everything that’s important to you and that you enjoy if you can find an effort/time percentage for each that keeps you happy!
