There are so many “It” pattens for fall this year, and I am LOVING every single one of them. Give me all the plaid, leopard, stripes, color blocking, tortoise, and cable knit! These are the six patterns I will touch on and of course link the pieces that have been catching my eye!
Plaid is one of those pattens that can be taken in so many directions. There is classic plaid, buffalo check, windowpane and more! This, with leopard following close behind, is probably my all time favorite pattern for this time of year. Accessorize with plaid scarves, find that perfect plaid skirt or sweater dress, there are so many pieces out there in this pattern right now.
Oh leopard how I love you. This pattern can add any kind of pop to an outfit since it is considered a neutral. I mean pair it with your camel colors and with your hot pinks, seriously endless options.
Stripes are a pattern you see year round, but there is just something about a good ole stripped sweater that gets me every time. Mix those stripes with your leopard and you can call yourself a pro pattern mixer. Don’t be afraid to mix your stripes with the other patterns.
This I think is an overlooked pattern by many and it shouldn’t be! The colors can be monochromatic or bold and different. I personally love both. My favorite way to stye color blocked pieces is to make them the center of attention. Have all of your other pieces be less eye-catching so people are drawn to the color blocked piece.
Now I know all of you have seen tortoise print accessories! Tortoise is a neutral accessory print that is worn year round especially in glasses and sunglasses. For the fall specifically though, you are seeing lots of jewelry featuring this print. I don’t know about you, but I absolutely love this print! My advice to you is to pair these accessories with you solid colors or striped pieces. A turtleneck sweater with leggings, boots, a sock bun and some tortoise earrings should be your staple outfit this time of year.
Lastly, we will call cable-knit a pattern for the purpose of this post because it is so popular. All the chunky knit cardigans and sweaters would fall under this category! Add these pieces over dresses, skirts, jeans, button downs, you name it. My personal favorite is to mix cable knit pieces with all the different patterns above to add that extra statement to the look.
I hope ya’ll enjoyed this post on the “It patterns” for fall! Grab at least one piece in each of these patterns to keep up with the latest trends and stay within your budget. I also plan to do another one of these posts that has to do with all the textures and patterns popular for winter!
